Hi, my name is Lois Amponsah, and I’m from Ghana, a country in West Africa. I grew up in Ejisu Abenase, a small town in the Ashanti Region, where I developed a strong sense of community and resilience.
I’m passionate about entrepreneurship, which I see as a way to uplift rural communities and create sustainable opportunities. I founded Wings of Change Ghana to help young people in underserved areas learn entrepreneurial skills and use them to make a positive impact in their communities.
At Wesleyan, I’m a Neuroscience and Economics major with a minor in Global Engagement. I love how my studies allow me to combine science, economics, and cultural understanding to address global challenges. My dream is to use these skills to tackle issues like poverty and inequality.
Outside of academics, I enjoy staying active and creative. My favorite dish is jollof rice with chicken—a classic Ghanaian meal that always reminds me of home. When I’m not working, you’ll find me watching movies, exercising, playing tennis, or strumming my guitar. I’m excited to learn from all of you and share ideas throughout this course.
